Elevate Your Space: The Top Interior Design Trends to Watch in 2025

The concept of interior design trends… it’s not the easiest to understand. The point of a home is to feel a sense of permanence. But the fleeting nature of trends suggests otherwise. Then, there’s the practicality of it all: it’s easy to swap a pair of shoes based on what goes down the runway, but the decor in your home? It requires a great amount of time, and of course, money. No one in their senses would change their sofa every season 😆

Yet styles do change—though slowly. Minimalism was all the rage in the 1990s, until it wasn’t. And now that we’ve folded a quarter of the century, what choices can we make to ensure our homes stand the test of time?

Keeping that in mind, we talked to our Arizona-based interior designers to ask which way the interior design pendulum is swinging. They had thoughts, and lots of them, some of the top ones that we put together here in the shape of luxury home design trends 2025.

English Style

Homeowners are taking inspiration from the classic English country style. For the kitchen, particularly. Think cabinets in luxe woods and historical paint colors, like deep greens. You will also see natural countertop materials like butcher’s block, as well as large range alcoves and wood ceiling beams.

Range Alcoves

Speaking of range alcoves, we see this feature appearing in countless photos being uploaded by designers. They’re an extension of the English-style influence on kitchens.

For a range alcove, the range is positioned within a recessed area (sometimes arched), often flanked by side walls and countertops. It creates a stunning focal point, and an area for the containment of a striking backsplash.

Textured Walls (and Ceilings!)

Plain walls are out. In 2025, expect to witness an explosion of texture. Wood paneling. Wallpapered ceilings. Decorative plaster finishes. Wall trimmings. Stone cladding. Brick veneers. Living green walls. Expect the unexpected. Flat surfaces are set to become dynamic focal points 🥳

Limestone Backsplashes

A desire for natural materials (and just something different) has convinced high-end homeowners to choose limestone as a kitchen backsplash. And for good reason. The material checks all boxes. It complements the trending colors of 2025, creamy off-white and light wood, so beautifully.

Quiet Luxury

Not just a “design moment.” It’s a “design movement.” A trend for classy, expensive-looking interiors that has been on the interior design list since 2023. Fast forward to 2025, and we see this effortlessly elegant style still a part of the leading trends. And why not? It’s timeless. It’s understated. And it exudes luxury like none other.

Home Wellness Spaces

Health & wellbeing have gained massive attention; a reason why wellness spaces in homes have become a popular trend for 2025. Could be a tiny yoga studio or a massive spa-like bathroom. The key? Focus on soothing elements. Natural light. Indoor plants. Calming colors. Whatever relaxes the mind 🤍

Tile Flooring

Wood is the most common kitchen flooring material. No denying. But know, when a material becomes ubiquitous, an alternative will gain attention. Same is the case with tile flooring appearing in kitchens. But not the white tile flooring of the 90s. Expect rich stone tiles, in various sizes and shapes. Or perhaps, tile flooring in a herringbone pattern. It should be interesting.

Art Deco

Art Deco in the most unexpected ways. We’ve seen it make a comeback through furniture silhouettes and lacquer, but designers will continue paying attention to layouts from the design era. Patterns and motifs will regain their popularity, too.

Sustainable Design

Once again, sustainability stays at the forefront of luxurious home design trends. Professionals will focus on creating beautiful spaces. Designs that are kind to the planet. Non-toxic materials, vegan leathers, and eco-friendly products are not just choices but essentials. Keep energy efficiency as the standard, and look into every opportunity to conserve water (gray-water recycling systems being a wonderful point here).

Shower Rooms

Light, airy showers featuring frameless glass enclosures are still a favorite. But some opulent homeowners are looking for something more private. Enter a luxe shower room. One that allows a more sealed-in design. Steam & sauna functions. Aromatherapy. Chromotherapy. Powerful ventilation. Simply, it should have an intimate spa-like look (and feel, obviously).

Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Living

Blurring the lines between the indoors and outdoors is a design trend that keeps gaining momentum—with no ending in sight. And it’s really easy to see why. Outdoor living areas should be as comfortable as the indoors. Outdoor kitchens, weather-resistant decor, cozy seating areas… there’s a lot to explore to make the transition seamless.

Similarly, the indoors should maintain a connection with the outdoors—and nature, the ultimate relaxant. Trending features would include…

  • Natural materials
  • Floor-to-ceiling windows
  • Indoor water features
  • Greenery (plants, flowers, etc.)
  • Seamless indoor-outdoor flooring transitions (e.g., hardwood)
  • Living walls
  • Earthy color palettes

Velvets

In all forms. Linen, cotton, cut velvet with patterns, etc. People want soft-to-touch textures over rough ones. They feel good, and look even better.

Discreet Tech

Technology continues to advance every day, and in 2025, it will become even more seamlessly integrated into our luxe homes. Discreet tech means installing smart devices in a way that you can’t see them. Hidden speakers, for example. Voice-controlled lighting. Wireless charging furniture. Motorized blinds. Concealed TVs. Smart mirrors. You’ll find countless ideas.

Rounded Furniture Forms

Furnishings featuring gentle curves (and rounded forms) are enjoying a serious design moment. The idea stems from an increasing love for the organic modern style. We will find more and more circular coffee tables and dining tables with rounded legs. Oblong mirrors and bulbous sofas will gain greater sales, too.

Color-Drenched Rooms

Bold colors are making a comeback this year. Talking about luxury interior design, we will see rich shades more often than not (emerald green, deep mustard, chestnut brown, etc.).

Color-drenched rooms use different shades of a single hue—perfect for those who like color, but not too much of it; or those who want to make a statement without overwhelming the space.

Shambolism

Shambolism, in our dictionary, refers to a design style that looks shambolic. It’s about embracing sensuous chaos. The beauty that arises when things aren’t perfect; the unexpected layering of textures; the crack in the glaze; the way something imperfect just feels alive. Remember, it’s not about messiness, but about surrounding yourself with meaningful decor.

Upholstered Walls

Yes, upholstery on the walls—sometimes on the ceilings, too. It creates a level of opulence that’s absolutely unbeatable. We see clients embracing this design trend in bedrooms, living rooms, and even home offices

Maximalism

The design trend that focuses on more of everything. More colors. More textures. More lighting. More fabrics. More personal touches. More of anything that reflects your personality ✨

Vintage Revival

Paired with sustainable options, the luxury design trends of 2025 are reviving vintage decor to save the planet. Why make a new purchase when there’s so much charm in antique pieces? Expect the new year to bring big business for thrift industries!

Pattern Mixing

More of a timeless approach than a fad. It has recently gained great momentum, though. Combine different patterns for a cohesive (rather than a chaotic) atmosphere. Make sure to maintain balance. Use a consistent color scheme. Incorporate complementary patterns/florals/stripes. You got to make sure every element gets the attention it deserves; not more, not less.
